The cake in this instructable is a two tier fruit cake, decorated with gorgeous bright red poppies. This is a design specific to my friends' desires, but I have attempted to expand the instructable to cover making wedding cakes in general, from the ambitious planning stages to the nervewracking final set up. This may have led me to ramble a little more than I should, but buried amongst that are the little tips &  tricks I've picked up a long the way.
Take a 30 gauge wire, dip it in edible glue, and carefully insert this into the raised ridge. Gently pinch the edges of the petal to give them a little realistic frill. If you have a petal veiner, lay the petal in the venier and press down firmly. This will give the petal veins and contours to make it more realistic, This can also be acheived with some patience and a thin modellling tool.

When you’re budgeting over £1,000 for a wedding cake, you should expect something spectacular and the team at Ann’s Designer Cakes agree: “This price range takes wedding cake designing to a whole new level. Clients should expect to receive two consultations; one initial meeting to discuss their requirements whilst tasting a range of cake flavours, followed by a second to view the cake design we’ve created and finalise the details.

To prepare the cake tin for baking, lay it onto a sheet of baking parchment and draw around the base, then cut out the circle. Cut a long strip of parchment a little taller than your tin. Fold over one long edge of this and cut slits every inch or so. Grease the tin and line the sides with the long strip, laying the flaps on the bottom of the tin. Cover the bottom with the circle. Once fully lined, do this all over again. Double lining the tin will prevent leakage, and give a little extra insulation to the cake.

What about a sheet cake?  We do offer sheet cakes, and they are a great way to supplement cake servings, without paying for a huge tiered cake with 250 servings.  What I mean by that is, if your guest count is 250, order a smaller tiered cake (the most common size cake we bake is a 3 tier with 80 servings & shown in the photo above) and then supplement the rest of your cake servings with sheet cake.  Sheet cakes are basic frosted cakes, delivered to the kitchen, cut by catering staff, and never seen by guests, therefore they cost less per serving then a tiered cake.  Keep in mind, that we will only make sheet cakes for wedding clients ordering a two tier or larger cake from us.

The Eye sweet opponent in the shape of a wedding event cake is the only threat the bride-to-be has to contend with on her special day in looking excellent. Wedding event cakes have become an important design at wedding event places where visitors still excite themselves over just how remarkable the wedding event cake is. Picking the right cake if done scrupulously is as easy as walking down the aisle.
i used them for a baroque wedding cake i made a few months ago. it was a four-tiered rectangular cake (each stack placed at different angles atop one another) and was covered in fondant painted in gold/red stripes. then i placed the poppies around the corners of the tiers. they weren't as vivid as yours though :( - ill try making them with red gumpaste/fondant next time.

We are very much doing a DIY wedding in a venue which was an old veterinary uni building that now houses a Gin distillery – so naturally we are having a gin themed wedding – lots of juniper berry colours therefore we would love to have a rustic citrusy gin soaked cake with some quirky animal topperd would be amazing- as attempting to make our own might end up a total faliure and we’d not have enough gin left for the cake after trying it!
Elegant wedding cake design are therefore the leading choice for most wedding parties. This doesn't neccesarily mean plain - these cakes are anything but. They simply aren't gawdy or festooned with little statues of tiny cherubs. Rather think, beautiful flowers or elegant wedding cake toppers. One of the best ways to transform a cake from good to sublime is through elegant cake toppers. They're not difficult to find especially since many cake businesses advertise extensively on the net.
